The Two Pipes

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act gave you a $6,000 senior deduction. Signed July 4, 2025. Big win, right?

Look at where it lands on your tax return. Form 1040, Line 13b. Below the line.

I mean, it's right there on the form.

The Plumbing

Your tax return has two pipes. Pipe One feeds your Adjusted Gross Income. That's the number up top. Line 11. The IRS uses it to set your marketplace health insurance help. They call it MAGI. Modified Adjusted Gross Income.

Pipe Two feeds your taxable income. That's further down. Line 15. This pipe sets how much tax you owe.

The new deductions from the One Big Beautiful Bill, the OBBBA, flow into Pipe Two. All four of them. Tips, overtime, car loan interest, the senior bonus. Schedule 1-A. Below the line. They cut your tax bill. They never touch Pipe One. They never move your MAGI.

The Affordable Care Act cliff only watches Pipe One.

So the deductions and the cliff never meet. They are in the same house. Connected to nothing.

Legendary investor Stanley Druckenmiller once said:

“You don't get rich by diversifying into 50 mediocre assets. You get rich by finding two or three asymmetric home runs.”

Jeff Brown just found this NEW asymmetric home run he calls “Elon Musk’s One Stock Retirement Plan.” (Click here for details.)

Same Law. Same Bill.

This is the part that fascinates me.

The same law that created those deductions also brought back the ACA subsidy cliff. 400% of the federal poverty level. For a single filer in 2026, that line sits at $62,600. One dollar above it and your marketplace health insurance credit drops to zero. Not a phase-out. A cliff. The full amount vanishes.

And the same law killed the safety net.

❝

There is no repayment cap for tax years after 2025. You must repay the full amount by which your advance credit payments exceed your Premium Tax Credit.

Sure.

The old caps used to limit the damage. If you were single and your income stayed under $60,240, the most you'd owe back was $1,625. The OBBBA deleted the statute that set those caps. IRC §36B(f)(2)(B). Gone. Now you owe back every dollar.

The Anchor Detail

A single person. Age 60. She earned $62,601 in 2026. One dollar over the line. Her marketplace credit drops to zero. She owes back $7,423.20 on Form 8962. That's the form where the IRS squares up your marketplace credits.

She also claimed the $6,000 senior deduction. At the 12% bracket, that saved her maybe $720 in federal tax.

Same return. One line gives her $720. Another line takes $7,423.20.

The deduction never touched her MAGI. It was never wired to. It went down Pipe Two. The cliff watched Pipe One. The pipes don't connect.

Think about who lands on that cliff. You run a small business. Your income comes on 1099s. No employer smoothing it out for you. No payroll department watching the number. You don't know where you landed until you file. And if you're between 55 and 64, your marketplace premiums are the highest on the board. You are the exact person who thinks the senior deduction helped. It did. Just not where you needed help.

Hedge fund legend humiliates Bitcoin traders

Collect fast payments of $4,898 from Bitcoin, over and over again…

Larry Benedict made $274 million trading on Wall Street…

Barron's ranked his hedge fund in the top 1% worldwide.

Now he's applying the same expertise to the Bitcoin market.

His system tracks 19 indicators to find quick Bitcoin profit opportunities.

And his most brilliant discovery? A way to potentially collect fast payments of $4,898 or more from Bitcoin, over and over again.

Without risking a dime in crypto.

His strategy doesn't rely on price going up.

You don't need a wallet. Or to even own Bitcoin at all.

Just one signal. One move.

And the chance to pocket thousands while everyone else panics.

Be warned, this might be difficult to hear.

Could it be worth it?

P.S. Larry says this could multiply your Bitcoin gains by up to 22x.

The Escape Hatch

So what actually moves MAGI?

Above-the-line stuff. The old stuff. Traditional IRA contributions. Health Savings Account contributions. SEP-IRA if you're self-employed. These go into Pipe One. These move the number the cliff watches.

Look, this is the useful part. Traditional IRA contributions for 2026 can be made up until the April 2027 filing deadline. You file your return. You see your MAGI landed at $63,000. You contribute $7,500 to a Traditional IRA before April. Your MAGI drops below $62,600. The cliff doesn't trigger. You keep the credit.

That's a fix you can apply after the year ends. The Schedule 1-A deductions? They were baked in all year. And they moved the wrong number.

The Shrug

Same law. Same bill. Same signature. One provision hands you a tax cut that flows down Pipe Two. Another provision rebuilds a cliff that watches Pipe One. A third provision removes the cap that used to limit the damage when you fell off.

The pipes don't connect. Read Line 13b. Then read Form 8962.

I mean, it's right there on the form.
